Ingredients

  • 4-Meats - Meatballs Ingredients -
  • minced lamb
  • minced beef
  • minced pork
  • minced chicken
  • 1/2 cup ORGRAN All Purpose Rice Crumbs
  • 2 teaspoons ORGRAN No Egg™ Egg Replacer as per packet instructions
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely grated lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped garlic chives
  • 1 teaspoon finely diced fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped oregano
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper, as desired
  • ORGRAN All Purpose Plain Flour, for rolling meatballs (approx. ⅔ cup)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, for frying meatballs
  • Lime Sauce Ingredients -
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely grated lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped lemon grass
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 1 red chilli, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ORGRAN All Purpose Plain Flour

Method

  • 4-Meats - Meatballs Method -
  • 1. Place lamb, beef, pork, chicken mince and rice crumbs into a medium-sized mixing bowl and mix well.
  • 2. Add ORGRAN No Egg™ Egg Replacer as per packet instructions, fish sauce, lime zest, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic, garlic chives, ginger, oregano and salt and freshly ground pepper. Pour into minced meats and rice crumbs. Mix well to combine ingredients.
  • 3. Take small portions of mixture, approx. the size of a golf ball and roll in flour.
  • 4. Pour oil into a large frying pan. Heat oil over a moderate heat. Add meatballs and cook until firm. (Meatballs can be cooked in a deep dryer if desired.)
  • 5. When meatballs are cooked, drain on absorbent paper.
  • Lime Sauce Method -
  • 1. Put lime juice, lime zest, lemon grass, garlic, chilli, water, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar and flour into a food blender. Blender until smooth.
  • 2. Pour sauce into a medium-sized saucepan. Cook over a gentle heat, stirring continuously until sauce boils and thickens.
  • OR
  • Put sauce into a medium-sized microwave –safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds and stir. Microwave on medium-high for 30 seconds and stir. Continue to microwave on medium-high for 30-second intervals and stir until sauce boils and thickens.
  • 3. Serve Meatballs with Lime Sauce.
