How to cook ORGRAN pasta to perfection
Cooking gluten free pasta is not too different from cooking wheat pasta except you need to follow the method on the pack and the recommended cooking time.
Three Easy Steps
Step 1
For every 250g packet of Orgran Pasta you will need 4 lt of boiling water. You do not need to add salt or oil. Bring the water to a rolling boil and then add the pasta.
Step 2
Stir Gently and cook for the minimum time indicated on the pack and then regularly check until the pasta has reached the consistency to suit your individual preference. Each Orgran variety has a recommended cooking time stated on the pack but this can vary slightly depending on the temperature of the water and the amount of pasta in the pot.
Step 3
When you have the desired al dente firmness strain the pasta through a collander and always rinse gently with tepid running water. This stops the pasta cooking any further and also washes away any excess starch.
Serve immediately with your favourite sauce
Orgran Crispbread
Try crispbread croutons in soup or minestrone. Simply cut crispbread into small squares and add to soup. ORGRAN Rice and garden herb crispbread is already flavoured and is ideal to use as herbal croutons.
Orgran Gravy Mix
Add in your own lightly browned onions for sensational onion gravy. Add to soups, stews, and casseroles for added flavour. For thicker or thinner gravy increase or reduce mix accordingly.
Orgran Lasagne
ORGRAN lasagne sheets are instant and therefore are very quick to prepare.
TIP To avoid the lasagne sheets dissolving as a result of overcooking, reduce the moisture content in the cooking tray and bake without cover * This will vary according to the recipe but in general reducing the moisture content will provide the best quality lasagne.
